Good Evening Band Parents and Students,
I hope this message meets everyone well! I have few items for
today.
1.
Fundraiser: Our fundraiser is in full swing. Just a reminder:
fundraiser money is not due until Monday, February 6. On that
day, band boosters will collect money in the morning and during
band classes in the band hall. No money will accepted after
Tuesday, February 7. Bulbs will be delivered after Spring Break.
2.
Solo: Your child received a solo this week. On Friday, May 4,
your child will perform this solo at a Solo & Ensemble Festival
at Huntsville High School. Please insure your child is working
on their solo. This will be a great opportunity for your child
to apply the skills they are learning on their instrument.
3.
Practice
[Assignment] Sheets are passed out every Monday to every student.
They are due the following Monday. Students are expected to
practice 100 minutes per week (approximately 14 minutes per
day). Please encourage your child to practice. If a child does
not turn in a practice sheet, they receive a ZERO for that week.
Please insure your child is practicing AND you are signing off
their practice time.
4.
Private lessons started back this past week. Please contact your
lessons teacher to confirm days and times.
5.
Objective Sheets: Students are expected to pass off 10
objectives every nine weeks. If you look in your child’s band
binder, you will see a bright orange, card stock piece of paper.
That is their objective sheet. These objectives are pass or fail
ONLY! Please sit down with child and review these. The students
are expected to come prepared to pass them off in class.
Finally, let’s help each other to make these students great.
Let’s encourage them to have self-motivation and
self-discipline. And as always, please contact us if you have
any questions or concerns.

23, 2012 Dear Band Parents, Today your band students
received information regarding our annual fundraiser.
The students will be selling flower
bulbs.
One advantage to this fundraiser is
that all items are priced at $6 per unit and we receive a 50%
profit.
The fundraiser will begin today,
January 23rd and will end on February 6th.
The Boosters will collect money before
school and during classes on Monday, February 6th in the
Band Hall.
Bulb money will not be accepted after Tuesday,
February 7th.
Any
checks that your student collects should be made out to
Huntsville Band Booster Club Inc.
Please include a Driver’s License
number on the check. This is the only fundraiser
that the band will be doing this year.
We are asking each band student to sell
10 items at $6 each.
The proceeds will be used to pay for
our trip to
Incredible Pizza on Friday, May 18th
including the buses needed for transportation there and back.
It also allows us to reimburse the Band
Boosters for the many events for which they have provided us with
food and drinks.
Each student who sells at least 10
items will be able to travel with us to Incredible Pizza and will
also be invited to a Movie Night in the Huntsville High School Band
Hall.
Pizza and drinks will be provided.
If your child sells
less than 10 items, they will need to make up the difference in
profit if they want to go on the trip.
A list is attached with the additional
amounts.
All
additional Incredible Pizza money (not bulb orders) needs to be
turned in by March 2nd. If you do not want your
child to participate in this fundraiser but they would like to go to
Incredible Pizza, please send $30 made out to Huntsville Band
Booster Club, Inc.
Please include a Driver’s License
number on the check.
Money is due no later than March 2nd.
Our trip to Incredible
Pizza is a reward for students who meet all expectations stated in
the band handbook including behavior and attendance and students can
lose this reward if those expectations are not met.
If your student loses their trip or for any reason
is unable to attend, there will be no money refunds. Thank you for all of your help and for
encouraging your students to be involved in the Huntsville
