Welcome to the Mance Park Band web site! |

May 19, 2010 Good afternoon, Band Parents! I want to first brag on our Cadet Band for doing a wonderful job at the Spring High School Festival last week. They received first divisions from all three judges and brought home a trophy! I have more reminders for the next two weeks: 1. The pep rally was moved to Friday, May 21st; however the band will not be performing. 2. Tomorrow is our combined 6th and 7th grade woodwind rehearsal from 3:30-4:30. It is very important that everyone is there. Attendance will be a major grade. This is a great opportunity for the students to make some connections with each other and get ready for next year. 3. Friday, May 21st is the combined 6th and 7th grade brass/percussion rehearsal from 3:30-4:30. Attendance will be a major grade. 4. Next Tuesday, May 25th is the combined 8th grade/HS band rehearsal at the High School from 3:30-5:00. We will bus the 8th graders over to the HS for this rehearsal. Please make sure you pick them up at 5:00 at the High School by the hornet statue. Attendance will be a major grade. 5. Thursday, May 27th at 6:30 is our Spring Concert in the MPMS Auditorium. All bands need to meet at 6:00 dressed in concert attire. Attendance is required and will be a major grade. Any student arriving after the concert has begun will not be allowed to perform and therefore will receive a zero. Students must come to the concert in order to go to Six Flags. If your child is too sick to come to school and the concert then they are probably too sick to go to Six Flags. 6. Immediately after the concert, all school-owned instruments will be checked-in. Any student interested in checking out an instrument for the summer will need to talk to Ms. Boone at that time.
7.
Friday, May 28th is
the SIX FLAGS TRIP!
I am still in need of 3 chaperones for this trip so let
me know if you’re available.
Remember, chaperones you must have a criminal background
check on file with the district in order to travel with us.
The cost for chaperones will be $35 made out to HBBCI and
will be due at the chaperone meeting after the concert.
Chaperones must
attend the meeting in order to go to Six Flags.
Here is the
itinerary for the trip and will be sending it home with your
students tomorrow.
Please have your students drink plenty of water starting now so
that they will be fully hydrated for the very hot day at Six
Flags. Thank you for all your support. I am very blessed to work with such wonderful students and parents. Have a great rest of the week!
