Good afternoon, Band Parents!

I hope you’re enjoying this beautiful weather today.

Our Pre-UIL Concert last week went well.  We received lots of helpful feedback from the judges and we have already begun to fix and clean our music. 

I have a few things:

1.   Most importantly, we have the schedule for contest for Concert and Symphonic Bands.

 

UIL Concert/Sight Reading Contest for Concert Band is Wednesday, March 31^st at Klein-Collins High School.  They will perform at 11:00 AM.

Symphonic Band has contest Thursday, April 1^st also at Klein-Collins High School.  They will perform at 10:30 AM.  Thursday, April 1^st is the day before Good Friday and Easter weekend.  Please do not start your Easter plans early. It is very important that we have everyone there to perform with the band because they have worked really hard.

There will be more specific information after the break.

2.   Remember, our sectional schedule has changed to prepare for UIL Contest.

When we return from the break we will only be about a week and a half away from contest for Symphonic and Concert Bands and three weeks away for Wind Ensemble, so please make sure there is nothing scheduled on the days your student has these important rehearsals.  They are a required part of the class and are major grades.  Thanks!

The Six Flags trip in May is a reward for all of the hard work…if the required work is not put in, then there can be no reward and students will not travel with the band.

3.   Finally, keep your students practicing.  They have worked so hard this week and we certainly can’t afford to lose any momentum.
