Good Morning Band Parents and Students,
I hope that everyone had a restful weekend. Congratulations to the HMB for an outstanding performance last Tuesday at UIL marching contest. As I am sure you know by now, the band earned 1st division ratings from all three judges at the contest. The band followed that up with another outstanding performance at Friday night’s Homecoming game. The band received numerous compliments from former band students and others who were at the game. Over the next couple of weeks we will begin shifting our focus from Marching season to Concert season. Many of the students are preparing for All-Region Band auditions while everyone will begin working on music for our Christmas concert. As we make this transition please encourage your students to continue practicing and taking private lessons. If your student is not in private lessons now would be a great time to get them into one now that they will have more time on their hands as we transition out of marching season.
Here is the information for this week:

2. If your student will be traveling with us on the band trip remember that your first payment of $150 was due this past Monday. If there is $150 already in your student’s trip account then there is nothing else you need to do for this first payment. If there is less than $150 then you will need to logon to the online Charms account and pay the difference. Go to www.huntsvillemilitaryband.com and find the tutorial on how to do that if you do not already know.
3. Next week we will only have practice on Thursday, November 6th. Please make sure everyone is in attendance since it is our only practice for next week.
4. If your student uses a school owned instrument and you chose not to pay the $40 for the full year we will be accepting $25 payments for the fall semester only. That payment is due by Thursday, October 30th and after that it will be turned into the fees and fines list with the front office of the school. Please make checks payable to HHS Band and please include a TX driver license and phone number.
