Physicals
For the 2024-2025 school year, students who participate in band are required to get a physical just like the students in athletics do. This is a regulation from UIL that we do not have any control over. This has to be done before summer band starts.
This is a reminder for EVERYONE to get a physical done before summer band if you have not already done so. Our students must have physicals to participate in marching band. We must have those before they do ANY activity at summer band. If your student did not participate in the on-campus physical day back in May, you now have two options to get one done before summer band. Take care of it soon as appointment times may book up between now and then. I have attached the paperwork for the physical to this email. You MUST use this paperwork, or the physical is not valid in the eyes of UIL.
Option 1: Go to your family doctor. ***Most likely free if you have insurance. If you go to your family doctor, you don’t need the 3rd page of the physical packet.
Option 2: Go to Texpress Urgent Care. ***$35 at their clinic. You need all 3 pages of the physical packet.
Please fill out as much of the form as possible before you arrive. They are located on the I-45 south feeder at 193 I-45 Suite H, Huntsville, TX 77340. Of course, you can take your student to your regular healthcare provider if you would like but there may be a fee for the physical depending on where you go and what insurance you have.
